Heres a break down of roughly my parts list(may have omitted smal items)
The LEDs were 6.29/ea ~410.00 (I did receive a quantity discount here)
Meanwells ~$40/ez...$240
CUSTOM BERQUIST THERMAL PADS FOR XRE STAR $0.49/ea $36 (Well worth this, no drilling and tapping holes)
Speaker Wire...??? I had a lot left over from a boat stereo overhaul
Heatsinks 8.5*14 (heatsinkusa.com) $31.50...$63
Plastic splash guard (Lowes) $20
and maybe $40 in nuts, bolts, cable, and turnbuckles

Right around $850, but a comparable commercial unit such as Aqua Illumination there unit was around $2200 last I checked.

I have also seen the same size 75g tank use 48 LEDs instead of my 72, and his looked good, and his coral are growing as well, I just wanted some extra lighting to the front and sides...

Kevin, I got my LEDs and drivers from Nanotuners...I used the drivers because they seemed easier and I was able to hook them up to my controller for dimming purposes. (Not to be pushing the Profilux, but it is a great item, I love it. Simualate moon, storms, clouds, rainy days, monitor pH, redox, temp, Conduct, water level, and many other things)...definately hit me up if you have any question, I'd be glad to help any way I can.

Cody, The mill would have been great, probably save quite a bit on the heatsinks. I used the large heatsinks inwhich I attached a controllable fan to them to pull the heat away...Without the fan I could feel the heat build up in the sinks, with it on, can't even tell the lights are on. If he doesnt have a source....The Yard Store downtown...they are really reasonable, just didnt have a mill

I have a few, but not much...more focused on getting the project done and hooked up...with the thought that it may not work. I'll post what I have when I get home tonight

Very cool! Thanks for sharing your parts list/costs and pictures. We are wanting to build a LED light for our 200 gallon when we get around to setting it up. Our main selling point on LED is the heat factor and not having to replace bulbs. Yours looks awesome!

Not a problem, I had a lot of help while I was building, so I will return the favor with anyone else that needs help. I am amazed as to how much heat doesnt transfer to the tank now that I have the PC off...Before I could barely get my temp below 80 degrees...now for the first time in 3 years I am having to put a heater in it.
