On the top of the box it says, "Safe for reef tanks, all invertebrates, desirable macro algaes, nitrifying bacteria and fish."

Default chemi clean

I have used the stuff - had lots of softies. they were ok afterward - still have some of them a few years later.

Do follow the instructions perfectly. If I remember right, it says to do it again in a short time (can't remember how much), but that is really helpful also. Finishes up the job.

So I know that this is an old thread, but rather than start a new one, thought I would post this up for anyone with questions or related problems....

My tank was suffering from a major case of the "red slime algae" a fellow reefer suggested chemiclean, so I picked some up, and HOLY COW, completely cleaned the tank.

I think that I had a couple of zoas die off and some hermits, but nothing major, followed the directions, and when I said that I had a major case I mean the sand was completely covered with the stuff, rocks were covered, it was a mess, from the crazy work hours and just my own neglect. Hopefully this will help the sick hippo, but we will see. BTW he is still hanging in there, and the neon goby that was added one week before treatment is doing fine, so no fish loss, I will check param's tonight, but everything seems to check out.

Did a WC today of about 25% and the tank hasn't looked as good in months. Even with the WC's I did on a weekly or Bi-weekly basis. So if anyone is suffering from the red slime I would highly suggest this product, just use with caution and follow the instructions. Make sure to replace with fresh carbon after using to soak up anything remaining in the tank.

I was gonna call you the "godfather of reefing" but thought that was presumptuous....
