Default Straight pin to square pin

SO I wanted to replace my power compact bulbs becuase they were old. Bought some 420's and 460's from Marine Depot. Discovered that my fixture took straight pin and I got square pin bulbs. Talked to Marine Depot they say I can't 460's in straight pin. They sent me square pin endcaps. Said it is easy to convert.

Has anyone have any experience converting straight pin to square pin?

Thanks in advance

I've searched ebay and only found ones that convert straight pin bulbs to square pin for a square pin fixture. Im doing it opposite. I want to put square pin bulbs to a straight pin fixture.

this is taken from someone i found on another site, so im not 100% sure on it. But according to them the wiring is like this..

"Assuming blue/red....the blue wires go to the top and bottom pins on the left and the red wires to the top and bottom pins of the right side. Technically the color and side do not matter, as long as both pins on one side get the same color.

Example:
straight= x x x x
straight= r r b b

Square= x x
............x x

Square= r b
............r b "

heres the link i found it on
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...pc-socket.html

as well as a few others that state the same thing
http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/ar...php/t-657.html
http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f6...act-14976.html

hope this helps.
